Also just build shit. The more you build new and different things the more not only your text editing will just roll out, your skills to see patterns in code and architecture will flourish. Read their bios, and the answer is always no. They loved to play, sure. They had some base talent, typically. But they also invested an absurd amount of time into that skill set.
